Vice President, Events

Alex Karpowich - I have worked as a government contractor in Huntsville for 11 years within the corporate and government space arena.  Having worked primarily at small companies, I have seen the importance of cultivating excitement and growing awareness around an organization.  This city and this industry have given a lot to me and I feel it is time for me to give back.  My goals if elected are to assist with the planning of events that can help capitalize on the upcoming relocation of U.S. Space Command to Huntsville.  Optimally the events I would help plan would balance welcoming and supporting Space Force Guardians to the area, promoting business collaboration with industry, and giving back to the Huntsville area.  I want to help show the people of Huntsville that Space Force is a natural and exciting extension of the history and culture of the city.  I am very excited about this opportunity to assist in the growth and impact of this chapter, and if elected I will do whatever I can to represent the members and their interests properly.

Andrea B. Brown - Ideally I would love to be part of the team local and national, who brings awareness to the community about the mission of the Spaceforce Association.  Help arrange and hold events   that benefit the SFA.  Make new connections with businesses and financial institutions and the local community concerning the needs of both the SFA and the SF guardians.  In the past I have held a four year term  on the local chapter of the Huntsville USA dance board (Secretary).  Also was elected to a position on the local school board in the Chicago Illinois public school system.  I would love to see more advertising on various platforms and around the surrounding area. Thank you for your consideration. Andrea Beth Brown

  • Strategic thinker with a focus on innovation, bringing fresh ideas to event formats, outreach, and member engagement.
  • ️ Deep understanding of space policy and national security, ensuring events reflect current priorities and foster informed dialogue.
  • Track record of growing organizational visibility, using events as a platform to elevate mission awareness and stakeholder support.
  • Detail-oriented project manager, adept at logistics, budgeting, vendor coordination, and contingency planning for seamless execution.

Treasurer

Dan Chitwood - I am currently the Deputy General Manager and Technical Program Manager at Corvid Technologies in Huntsville, where I lead a team of engineers and scientists supporting radar and sensor programs for the Missile Defense Agency. I manage an annual budget exceeding $11 million and oversee most of the technical operations for the Huntsville office. I hold a Ph.D. in Physics from the University of Illinois and have more than 20 years of experience working at the intersection of science, technology, and national defense.

Outside of work, I serve as President of my community’s Homeowners Association, where I believe in serving the community and managing shared resources to provide meaningful value to residents through transparency, accountability, and thoughtful stewardship. I am also passionate about STEM education and enjoy mentoring students to explore careers in physics, engineering, and space technology.

If elected Treasurer, I will ensure clear and responsible financial management, strengthen local partnerships, and support initiatives that connect our members and Space Force Guardians. I look forward to contributing my leadership, technical expertise, and commitment to service to the continued success of the SFA Rocket City Chapter.

President

Charlotte Houser - Hello, my name is Charlotte Houser, and I am seeking election to the role of President for SFA's Rocket City Chapter. I serve as Corporate Counsel at Voyager Technologies Inc., and I currently serve in the capacity of VP for Events for our Chapter. During my tenure as VP for Events, I coordinated several high-profile events, including the Brig. Gen. Nick Hague Discussion, the Always Above Screening and Fireside Chat with Gen. Chance Saltzman, and the SMD Guardian Social. In seeking the office of President for our chapter I hope to maintain and further encourage the momentum and growth seen under Damon Feltman. I believe we are at a critical juncture for our Chapter's potential as we continue to see the profile of the Huntsville area grow with the announcement of Space Command's transfer. As a chapter we must begin to lay the foundation for welcoming our new colleagues and this means expanding outreach to other chapters and within our community, promoting collaboration between stakeholders, and increasing our support of the guardians and their families. In order to achieve these objectives, I have several objectives including: 1) the creation of a Space Force associated formal event (e.g. gala or ball) for guardians; 2) the generation of resources for incoming guardian families in collaboration with the Huntsville community; and 3) increased support of educational groups associated with Space Force. If you have any questions about my platform or my objectives for our continued growth, please do not hesitate to reach out to me (cahouser12@gmail.com).
